We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced midwife to deliver high-quality care and achieve the highest possible patient experience.

Main duties of the job:

  1. To assume responsibility for the devolved management of a ward/unit/caseload, including the assessment of care needs and the implementation of evidence-based care programs.
  2. To be responsible for all midwifery care standards and maintain high clinical standards.
  3. To participate in on-call hospital/community rota.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • 1st Level live NMC Registered Midwife
  • Registered mentor
  • Diploma or degree or equivalent relevant experience

Desirable:

  • Leadership Course
  • Management Course
  • Examination of newborn babies or working towards

Experience & Knowledge:

Essential:

  • Recent experience and requisite level of competencies at Band 6
  • Evidence of change management in ward/dept area
  • Evidence of practice development
  • Experience of coordinating a team

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
  • Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods

Skills & Abilities:

Essential:

  • Mentorship skills
  • Counselling & appraisal skills
  • Level 1 Child Protection

Desirable:

  • Leadership skills

Other Requirements:

Essential:

  • Valid driving licence and car ownership or Trust personal lease vehicle
