Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced midwife to join our team at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a midwifery specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to women and their families, with a focus on achieving the highest possible patient experience.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to the Better Births vision and will be able to demonstrate good communication skills, a flexible approach to care, and sensitivity to women's needs and choices.

Main Duties of the Job

As a midwife, you will be responsible for the devolved management of a ward/unit/caseload, including the assessment of care needs and the implementation of evidence-based care programs. You will also be responsible for supervising, supporting, and educating junior members of the team.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a 1st-level live NMC registration as a midwife, a registered mentor qualification, and a diploma or degree in a relevant field. A leadership course or management course would be desirable, as would experience of change management in a ward or department area.
