Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Endoscopist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our endoscopy department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be required to manage a caseload of patients undergoing endoscopy procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy. You will also be expected to participate in quality assurance and audit activities, as well as contribute to the development of nurse-led practice.

Person Specification

  • Evidence of managing a caseload or care group in a clinical setting with multidisciplinary working
  • Evidence of providing written and verbal communications to consultants and GPs as an integral part of caseload responsibilities working with patients with GI disease to cancer
  • Evidence of having been responsible of day to day supervision or coordination of staff in a clinical setting
  • Evidence of participation in a quality assurance, audit and research
  • Meets endoscopy KPIs
  • Responsibility for safe use of equipment and research / stock control

Qualifications

  • NMC registered 1st level nurse
  • Degree level education
  • Independent JAG certified practitioner in gastroscopy and colonoscopy
  • Proficient in cannulation and venepuncture
  • Willing to pursue further studies at level 7 to underpin clinical practice
