Electrical Maintenance Lead

This is a senior-level electrical engineering position at MURVILLE CONSULTANCY LIMITED, focusing on leading an engineering team with an electrical bias. The role involves improving operational performance by effectively supervising the shift team and implementing new maintenance and asset improvement methods.
About the Job- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective resource planning and adherence to equipment breakdowns and PPM schedules.
- A strong safety culture within the team will be promoted, and compliance to current procedures will be maintained.
The ideal candidate will have a completed formal multi-skilled apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, NVQ3/C&G/ONC level, and excellent problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Liaise with Production Management on equipment breakdown prioritisation.
- Review Maintenance activities and identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness.
- Ensure team compliance with current stores systems, including accurately recording all part movements, and using the historical data for improvement initiatives and fault trending.
- To diagnose faults, test, repair and maintain Mechanical equipment and machinery to relevant Engineering standard.
- To service, adjust and repair machinery and equipment using the necessary tools in a safe and proper manner, and carry out planned, preventative and corrective maintenance to agreed schedules.
- Observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure.
- Adhere to relevant H&S, quality, environmental and product safety procedures as well as isolation procedures, permits to work and any other legal and statutory regulations.
- Use and support 5Whys/RCA/5s techniques and programmes.
- Raise appropriate requisition for replacement parts as required.
- Interpret and implement technical service instruction data relating to machinery.
- Coach shift Engineers and operators with asset care tasks.
- Examine machinery and equipment and report on condition, performance, and plan of action for improvements.
- Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to forge strong working relationships both internally and externally.
- Highly organised, driven, and energetic, with a proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Positive 'can-do' attitude, with a willingness to learn and go the extra mile to deliver commitments.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring high levels of accuracy and due diligence in all processes.
- Self-starter; able to work independently, without supervision and as part of a proactive team.
- Capable of working with deadlines while ensuring high quality of results delivered.
We are offering a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
