Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Outdoor Instructor to join our team at Utah State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and teaching outdoor recreational activities for USU students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead outdoor trips and activities for USU students
  • Develop and implement curriculum for outdoor education courses
  • Collaborate with Campus Life Department to enhance outdoor program
  • Ensure student safety and well-being during outdoor activities
  • Assess student skills and knowledge throughout the course
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students
Requirements
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in outdoor education or a related field
  • Knowledge of outdoor safety protocols and first aid
  • Ability to lead and motivate students in outdoor settings
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching and leading outdoor education courses
  • Knowledge of environmental stewardship and Leave No Trace principles
  • Ability to use relevant technology and software for scheduling and communication
