Job Description

Myonex is seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team. As a Cost Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the development, implementation, and execution of project cost control, cost reporting, and invoicing objectives within contracted work scopes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and advise project managers, commercial managers, and financial controllers on critical path, milestone, and slipping and overdue tasks, and other issues and changes that may give rise to over-budget tasks.
  • Manage and monitor project budgets, developing and adjusting project budgets as needed.
  • Assist the financial accountant and commercial manager in developing project cash flow analysis.
  • Liaise with project managers and the project management team daily, providing briefing, feedback, and highlighting areas of concern to enable tracking of costs against baseline and highlighting significant deviations.
  • Manage and monitor project costs, assisting with forecasting future project costs.
  • Accurately track and reconcile project equipment and resources.
  • Manage, monitor, and analyze all project-related costs, liaising with project managers to review incorrectly allocated costs and creating journal corrections to move costs to correct codes where required.
  • Manage all client PO expenditure checks and liaise with clients and project managers directly to ensure they are aware of any PO uplifts in advance of project completion.
  • Write reports and present information to key stakeholders.
  • Understand and comply with contract notification and reporting procedures.
  • Manage invoicing requirements and close-out reporting at project completion.
  • Develop financial reporting procedures and systems.
  • Calculate variances between budgets and actuals.
  • Investigate unprofitable variances and losses.
  • Develop cost-efficient solutions to implement changes.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in cost control in the engineering, marine, and subsea construction industry.
  • Experience with accountancy software platforms such as Navision/Sage/SAP/ORACLE or similar.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and project stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, balancing resources, skills, priorities, and timescales to achieve objectives.
