Job Description

Job Title: COSHH Assessor

Job Type: Full-time

Contract: 12-month contract

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled COSHH Assessor to join our team. As a COSHH Assessor, you will be responsible for creating COSHH assessments from the gathering of SDS data and proposed operational usage to the specification of engineering controls such as LEV and the use of specific PPE as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create COSHH assessments from the gathering of SDS data and proposed operational usage to the specification of engineering controls such as LEV and the use of specific PPE as required.
  • Work with the HS&E Advisors in the approval of new materials and chemicals ensuring that suitable and sufficient assessments are created, or reviewed where already in use.
  • Record all COSHH risk assessments in the software system. Note operational controls and actions in the mango software system for the tracking to closure of mitigation actions.
  • Work with the HS&E Advisors to identify suitable PPE for the use of employees when working with chemicals.

Requirements:

  • 2 years experience in undertaking COSHH assessments in a high hazard environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial chemistry ideally including electroplating.
  • Able to pick up and use bespoke IT system for the assessment of chemical procedures.
  • CRB authorisation.
