About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Risk Assessor to join our team at Shorterm Group. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe handling and use of chemicals in our manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Create comprehensive COSHH assessments for new materials and chemicals, ensuring that all necessary safety protocols are in place.
  2. Work closely with our HS&E Advisors to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with chemical usage.
  3. Develop and implement effective control measures to minimize exposure to hazardous substances.
  4. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all relevant documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  1. 2 years of experience in undertaking COSHH assessments in a high-hazard environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of industrial chemistry, including electroplating.
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Proficiency in using bespoke IT systems for chemical procedure assessments.
  5. CRB authorization.
