About the Role

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is proud to be supporting a leading multi-disciplined engineering and environmental consultancy with a strong presence across the UK, in their search for a Principal Town Planner to join their Newcastle office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a diverse range of clients on a broad spectrum of projects across various sectors, including tourism, health, education, community uses, waste and energy facilities, public sector, commercial, industrial and logistics, residential, and infrastructure.
  • Contribute to all stages of the planning process, including project management, design development, assessment, and appeals.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to manage projects through Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), and Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) processes.
  • Represent clients as expert witnesses at public inquiries.
Requirements
  • Planning qualification or equivalent.
  • MRTPI status or nearing submission.
  • Significant planning experience, including private sector experience.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Development management experience.
  • North East experience advantageous.
