Our custom-built lab and office is based 10 minutes' drive from central Oxford, providing a unique opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our development team to execute lab work, following materials synthesis and formulation recipes and characterisation protocols.
  • Collaborate with experienced chemists and materials scientists to progress our products to the next stage of performance.
  • Perform characterisation, including materials properties, optical performance, and lifetime.
  • Prepare substrates, materials, and samples for characterisation.
  • Report results, ensure lab safety, and maintain equipment.
  • Complete documentation to a high standard.
  • Track and monitor stock, including chemicals and consumables.
  • Communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum HNC/HND or degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with common chemical and optical analytical methods.
  • Capability to follow precise synthetic protocols and ensure reproducibility.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Happy to perform repetitive lab work.
  • Good time management and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, well-organised, and proactive learner.
Advantage
  • Experience working within industry and/or a chemistry laboratory.
  • Experience with UV-visible spectroscopy.
  • Experience with formulation preparation and deposition of resin thin films using spin coating, blade coating, etc.
