Job Title: Court Officer

Kenyon Block Consultants Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court Officer to join our team. As a Court Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring a fair and safe trading environment for consumers and businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of trade premises to ensure compliance with trading standards legislation.
  • Advice and Support: Provide written and verbal advice and assistance to traders on trading standards matters, including advice on their rights and obligations and the interpretation of trading standards legislation.
  • Investigations and Enforcement: Investigate complaints and service demands, and instigate formal/informal action against businesses for breaches of legislation.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise and advise effectively with colleagues at a range of levels within the department, other council departments, and with Police, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs and other similar organisations.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training to be able to demonstrate competence and assist in developing policies and best practice for preventing and minimising crime.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of trading standards legislation and a proven track record of enforcing compliance. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team and communicate complex information to a range of stakeholders.
