Job Overview

Metroworth Consulting Limited is seeking a highly skilled Lead Pipeline Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen.

Duration: 12 months +

Location: Clients offices in Aberdeen - hybrid working is acceptable with 3 days per week in the office / 2 days remote working

Rate: Circa £60.00 per hour (Ltd co rate)

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct thorough piping stress analyses on Caesar II and other relevant software.
  2. Perform piping stress analysis on underground and aboveground pipelines, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  3. Evaluate static equipment nozzle loading and provide technical direction to the piping stress team.
  4. Responsible for purchasing piping materials for technical and engineering quality documents.
  5. Conduct piping analysis on major stream pipelines, including high-pressure stream lines, produced emulsion lines, and natural gas lines.
  6. Produce plant plot plans and overall plot plans, focusing on piping portions.
  7. Provide technical guidance to piping stress team members as needed.
  8. Ensure compliance with company and client standards for piping engineering.
  9. Evaluate mechanical equipment documents, such as MRs and vendor documents, for piping materials and components.
  10. Support field engineering reviews at construction sites as required.
  11. Contribute to multidiscipline documents, such as LDTs, P & IDs, and provide input on piping value engineering.
  12. Generate MSDs based on process conditions and provide input on piping technical design.
  13. Responsible for piping technical design and basic piping information, including pipe wall thickness, hydro-test procedures, and pressure and temperature conditions.
  14. Identify stress-related potential problems on pipelines and process piping.
  15. Select and design pipe supports.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Piping Engineering or a related field.
  2. At least 8 years of engineering experience, with field experience being an asset.
  3. Industry experience in Oil & Gas (SAGD) or other relevant sectors, such as Mining, Pipelines, Gas treatment, Gas compression package, Refinery, or Upgrader.
  4. Professional Engineer (APEGA PEng) certification, with the ability to authenticate piping documents and drawings.
  5. Experience in piping stress analysis, piping, and piping components material selection.
  6. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to solve problems and technical issues.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
