Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Quality Manager to lead the development and implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) within our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the QMS meets the requirements of ISO 15189 and the Forensic Science Regulators requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), Forensic Science Regulator (FSR), and Forensic Service Providers.
  • Report to top management on QMS status and areas for improvement.
  • Be the first point of contact for all quality-related communications.
  • Inform customers, UKAS, and the Forensic Regulator of any significant non-conformances.
  • Implement the QMS to meet accreditation quality standards, specifically the FSR Codes of Practice and ISO15189.
  • Plan and manage audit schedules, including internal and external audits.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor internal auditors.
  • Provide up-to-date information on the progress of Corrective, Preventive, and Improvement actions.
  • Negotiate and influence managers to ensure compliance.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance on all matters appertaining to accreditation.

About the Role

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be a senior figure, advising on key decisions, dealing with issues, and liaising with external contacts.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent level of qualification in a relevant subject and/or proven relevant work experience, alongside a qualification in project management/quality management.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Forensic qualification.
  • Auditing certification.
  • Good understanding of governance within healthcare.
  • Experience of implementing ISO15189 or similar ISO accreditation.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001.
  • Auditing experience.
