Academics Ltd is seeking a dedicated Educational Specialist to join their team at a Specialist School in Salisbury. As an ideal candidate, you will possess a strong understanding of special educational needs and be kind, patient, and supportive.

About the Role

The school caters for students with diverse learning requirements, including Autism, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.

You will work closely with teaching assistants to create a nurturing environment that fosters a love of learning for each pupil.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach students with complex learning needs using specialized strategies and techniques
  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to meet individual student needs
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and other staff members to ensure seamless support and care
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify areas of strength and weakness
Requirements
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Strong academic background and relevant qualifications
  • Experience working in an SEN setting, preferably with similar age ranges
  • Makaton training and Team Teach experience highly desirable
  • A natural caring personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
