Fostering Registered Manager Job Description

Sanctuary Personnel, a pioneering recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled Fostering Registered Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic development and operational management of the agency's fostering services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategic development and operational management of the agency's fostering services.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements, particularly The Fostering Services and the National Minimum Standards for Fostering.
  • Drive the organizational strategy in a forward-thinking and innovative way, ensuring targets and key performance indicators are achieved and exceeded.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise foster carers in line with regulations, local targets, and good practice guidance.
  • Provide effective and efficient management of fostering team staff, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and departmental eligibility criteria.
  • Report to and sit on the Fostering Panel as an advisor or social work representative, where appropriate.
  • Plan and monitor the team's performance using management information systems and regular direct observation of work.
  • Supervise members of the Fostering Service and undertake regular personal and case supervision and appraisals.
  • Participate in case auditing activity across the service (and with partner agencies as required) to secure the highest possible standards of social work and other safeguarding practice and record keeping.
  • Maintain, monitor, and review accurate records of all work undertaken, ensuring recording information is accurate and up to date.
  • Offer an advice and consultancy service to social work colleagues in relation to fostering matters.
  • Undertake risk assessments and ensure the health, safety, and welfare of visitors, service users, and staff is maintained in accordance with safeguarding procedures.
  • Deputise for the Head of Service and other practice managers (children's), acting as a representative on external groups, court/care proceedings, and undertaking additional duties as required.
Requirements:
  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Level 5 Diploma/Management qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Past Management experience.
