Job Description:

This specialist school supports children and young adults from the age of 5 years with complex and severe special educational needs. It is both a primary and secondary provision. Needs supported include SEMH and non-verbal. The school appreciates difference and celebrates individual strengths. In order to learn well, the children and young adults must all feel safe and secure. As such, they have un-apologetically high standards for behaviour and conduct, and no tolerance for bullying or discrimination.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and interactive lessons to students with specialist needs who may present with challenging behaviours associated with their diagnosis.
  • Communicating with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participating in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole school training events.

Requirements:

  • Teaching Qualification
  • Relevant SEN teaching experience (Must be able to provide 2 teaching references)
  • Relevant knowledge of the current national curriculum
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
