About the Role

The Mergers and Acquisitions Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of the M&A process, from deal origination through to execution. This includes identifying and evaluating potential targets, conducting due diligence, and negotiating deals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and business administration, with a proven track record of success in M&A transactions. They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate sufficient transactions to add at least GBP 25m of revenue to the business per annum
  • Handle multiple M&A projects in parallel
  • Oversee an analyst to prepare financial models for each transaction
  • Supervise and coach analysts to enhance their contribution and develop their capabilities

Requirements

  • Degree educated in finance, business administration, or a related specialization
  • Additional professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, ACCA are desirable but not essential
  • 5+ years of experience in a M&A environment, with demonstrable experience playing a lead role in executing transactions
  • Strong mental agility and project management skills, able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced business writing skills, able to produce high-quality and impactful professional documents for internal use at Board level
