Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Instructor to join our team at Virginia Peninsula Community College. As an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics, you will be responsible for teaching college-level mathematics courses and contributing to the academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver instruction for day and evening classes, ensuring a student-centered approach to learning.
  • Assess and grade student performance, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a strong presence on campus, engaging with students, staff, and administrators to support academic excellence.
  • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Ability to teach at all campuses and partner locations, with a willingness to adapt to changing instructional needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for teaching and inspiring adult learners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching at the college or university level, with a strong background in online or hybrid instructional modalities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using instructional technologies and learning management systems, with a commitment to enhancing the educational experience.
  • Ability to measure, assess, and align student outcomes within courses or programs, with a focus on academic excellence.
