Role Summary: As a shift engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our client's manufacturing facility. Working on a variety of high-speed production and packaging machinery, you will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks, including predictive maintenance and repairs. Your expertise will ensure the efficient running of equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing production levels. In addition to your technical skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities: Your primary duties will involve:
  • Performing electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks, including routine inspections and troubleshooting
  • Maintaining and repairing equipment to prevent breakdowns and minimize downtime
  • Participating in project work, including new machine installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting in the development of new predictive maintenance programs and implementing asset care management systems


Requirements: To succeed in this position, you should have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years of experience in a maintenance engineering role. Both electrical and mechanical certifications are necessary, along with experience working in a fast-paced production environment, preferably within the FMCG, food, packaging, or automation sectors. Effective communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently are also key attributes. Familiarity with PLC's, motors, drives, and automation systems would be beneficial, as would experience with preventative maintenance environments.
