About the Role

As a Qualified Steward in the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, you will embark on a rewarding career that offers a unique blend of hospitality, logistics, and adventure. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the highest standards of catering, accommodation, and social areas on board the ship. This will involve assisting in the service of meals, maintaining the cleanliness of cabins and communal spaces, and collaborating with the PO/CPO Steward to achieve exceptional results.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional hospitality services to crew members and guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere on board.
  • Assist in the preparation and service of meals, maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the PO/CPO Steward to develop and implement effective logistics and operations strategies.
  • Participate in firefighting, first aid, and damage control activities as part of the ship's company.

Eligibility
  • Aged at least 17 years 6 months to apply, and 18 years to commence employment.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality Services or equivalent qualifications.
  • Foundation Food Certificate or Level 2 Food Safety Certificate, and a level of experience gained within the hospitality and catering industry.
  • Must be a British or Irish national, a Commonwealth citizen, or a Dual National who has lived in the UK continuously for 5 years prior to applying.
  • Need to have confidence with jumping into water and the ability to wade while wearing a life jacket.
