Job Overview

A leading global defence, security and aerospace company is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join their team as a Principal Power Systems Electrical Engineer. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible hours, with various locations across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience, be Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership, and possess knowledge of high power and medium voltage power systems and distributions.

This position requires the ability to conduct electrical load budget and load flow analysis, understand power system analysis software tools (e.g., ETAP, Simulink/Simscape, MATLAB), and effectively manage stakeholders. A British passport and 5 years' residency in the UK are mandatory for eligibility to apply for SC clearance.

The successful candidate will work at the cutting edge of technology, creating innovative solutions for customers worldwide. They will be part of the Electrical Verification Team, responsible for verifying and validating the power system, conducting analysis, and performing calculations to support the maturity and design of the electrical platform.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Conducting load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis of an electrical power system.
  2. Management and analysis of the electrical load budget.
  3. Developing and validating electrical models.
  4. Collaborating with multi-discipline teams, suppliers, and stakeholders on matters related to the power system.
  5. Preparing technical reports, calculations, and presentations communicating results and advising recommendations.
  6. Developing and mentoring other team members.
