About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in providing financial leadership and expertise to support the delivery of our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to senior management and other stakeholders on financial performance, accounting standards, and financial controls.
  • Coordinate and complete the Annual Accounts and monthly financial monitoring returns to the Welsh Government, interpreting trends and providing detailed analysis of the Health Board's reported position.
  • Design and produce a range of financial reports to support the Health Board's financial planning and decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the negotiation, interpretation, and implementation of changes in accounting standards, NHS capital requirements, and other key NHS financial policies.

  • CCAB Professionally qualified
  • Significant finance experience within the NHS, Public or private sector
  • IT literate with practical computer application skills covering Microsoft products including advanced level of Excel spreadsheets.
