Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in providing financial accounting and reporting services to support the organization's financial management and decision-making processes.

About the Role

The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Providing financial accounting and reporting services to support the organization's financial management and decision-making processes.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Developing and implementing financial reporting systems and processes to support business decision-making.
  • Providing financial analysis and advice to support business planning and decision-making.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • CCAB professionally qualified.
  • Significant finance experience within the NHS, public or private sector.
  • IT literate with practical computer application skills covering Microsoft products, including advanced level of Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience in the NHS.
  • Use of Oracle or other general ledger systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
