Pod Talent is excited to be supporting a leading global medical solutions company in recruiting for a UK Customs and Trade Compliance Manager. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, international environment and is ready to make a significant impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of a standardized global trade compliance program, focusing on the UK and Europe.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, supporting the smooth and efficient movement of products globally.
- Manage and support the Inward Process Relief program, ensuring accurate reconciliation and compliance.
- Conduct audits and manage the AEO certification process, analyzing and resolving compliance issues.
- Assign and review global Harmonised Tariff Codes (HTS) and manage SAP master data.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including trade automation and process optimization.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, such as customs brokers and government agencies, to maintain high compliance standards.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in international trade compliance, with expertise in both import and export regulations.
- Strong knowledge of HTS classification, particularly in medical devices, within Europe and the US.
- Proven experience in managing global customs programs and working with diverse, multinational teams.
- Direct experience with Inward Processing Relief (IPR) is essential.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, develop actionable strategies, and implement them effectively.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with trade automation systems like Thomson Reuters OneSource is a plus.
- Experience in healthcare (medical device) industry, or another highly regulated industry desirable but not required.
