We are seeking a skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Operator to join our team at Menzies Distribution. As a key member of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of tankers.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who possess a strong understanding of HGV operations and have experience in maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.
The successful candidate will be required to manage tankers onsite and shunt trailers to and from customer sites on a daily basis. This role also involves performing regular checks and maintaining yard cleanliness, as well as assisting with washing the back end of tankers when required.
Key Responsibilities:- Safely load and unload tankers, following all site procedures and ensuring compliance with all documentation.
- Maintain constant communication with the Traffic Office regarding requirements and any issues.
- Conduct yard checks upon request to ensure safety and cleanliness.
- Maintain the yard in a clean and tidy condition at all times.
- Use all equipment safely as specified in operating procedures for vehicle/tanker cleanliness.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision. In addition, they will be required to hold a valid HGV Class 1 Licence (with no more than 6 points) and have previous experience in a shunting role.
