Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantitative Analytics Analyst to join our team at Barclays Bank UK PLC. As a key member of our risk management division, you will be responsible for monitoring the bank's risk profile, identifying and managing risks, and providing insights and expertise to support senior colleagues in making informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute small research projects to support risk identification and strategic decision-making, preparing presentations and reports to communicate findings to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, leveraging mathematical and programming skills to drive business strategy.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with the latest model development approaches and advancements in technology.
  • Identify and manage risks, reviewing and challenging business propositions to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage business and client relationships under steadily decreasing supervision, taking ownership for embedding new policies and procedures adopted due to risk mitigation.
  • Support risk management and decision-making by using financial models and strategies, delivering high-quality results in line with relevant rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
Requirements
  • Completed or be in the final year of an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a technical discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Statistics, Calculus, Computer Science, or other STEM subjects.
  • Mathematical and programming skills, ideally in Java, C++, or Python, with a knack for logical thinking and creative problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and team-player skills, with the ability to guide and persuade team members and communicate complex/sensitive information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make evaluative judgments based on factual information and resolve problems through the application of acquired technical experience.
