About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mathematics and Physics Tutor to join our team at the Leeds International Study Centre. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver teaching and learning materials for Mathematics and Physics modules.
  • Contribute to the effective management of the programmes and the student life cycle.
  • Participate in regular meetings with teaching and support staff to ensure the smooth delivery of programmes.
  • Prepare and mark module examinations, and provide feedback to students.
  • Update and maintain the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
  • Liaise with the Student Experience Team and Registry and Operations Team to deliver induction, orientation, and registration programmes.
  • Support students in achieving their progression aims, working closely with the Progression, Welfare, and Support team.
  • Engage in scholarly activity to ensure the delivery of modules is current and of high quality.
  • Implement quality assurance procedures at module level and contribute to the annual monitoring and review of the programme.
  • Log and monitor student attendance, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student engagement.
  • Complete sponsor reports and academic reports for students.
  • Take up opportunities for professional development, such as VLE development and peer observation activities.
  • Undertake teaching, learning, and assessment observations, and associated staff development plans, to assure standards within the subject area.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the Subject Leader, Head of SEC, and Senior Leadership Team.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject area, preferably with a Master's qualification or a PhD. Experience teaching in UK higher or further education, and a teaching qualification, are highly desirable. You should have a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, and be able to work effectively with colleagues and students.
