Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading key procurement activities, successfully securing the supply of goods and services for our requirements, and optimising commercial outcomes while mitigating risk.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct detailed analysis of category spend and volume information to support strategic and operational procurement.
  2. Develop and implement core procurement plans and processes to deliver business objectives and commercial gain.
  3. Research and evaluate options for supply through selection of suppliers, conducting tenders and supplier negotiations.
  4. Draft, negotiate, and implement robust commercial contracts.
  5. Maintain positive and productive partnerships at all levels, within the categories you're aligned to and more broadly across the organisation.
  6. Raise awareness of Procurement's role and capabilities, educating business owners on the opportunities and benefits of a strategic focus on purchasing activity.
  7. Encourage business partners to actively contribute to the sourcing process, fully understanding their roles and responsibilities and input where relevant.
  8. Advise business partners on how to actively performance handle suppliers against core metrics to drive improvements and efficiencies.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong interpersonal and influencing skills who is able to build and maintain outstanding relationships. In addition to the above, we are seeking:

  1. A high level of procurement purchasing experience in a Legal, Supply Chain or Business Management area.
  2. Confidence in researching, assimilating, and processing data from a range of sources.
  3. Proven commercial contract management experience, ideally gained during contract, commercial, or procurement background with experience in management of large enterprise contracts.
  4. Sound knowledge of contract law and negotiating sophisticated commercial deals with large supplier organisations.
  5. Experience with web-enabled procurement tools.
  6. Knowledge of procurement within the aerospace industry is ideal.
