Job Title: Legal Cashier

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Legal Cashier to join our finance team in St Albans, Hertfordshire. As a Legal Cashier, you will play a crucial role in the smooth financial operations of our law firm, ensuring compliance with legal accounting regulations and providing support to our legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process client and office account transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
  • Ensure compliance with SAR (Solicitors Accounts Rules) and other legal financial regulations.
  • Handle billing processes, including preparing bills and liaising with fee earners.
  • Manage electronic payments and bank transfers.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
  • Respond to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of financial procedures within the firm.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm environment.
  • Solid understanding of the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.
  • Strong knowledge of legal accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
