Job Title: Junior Buyer

Location: Blackwood

Salary: £25,000-£26,000 per annum

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday, days regular 37.5 hours a week, start time can be slightly flexible

We are recruiting a Junior Buyer to work for a company in Blackwood on a temp to perm basis. As a key member of the purchasing team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Purchasing Manager in key functions within the department.

Main Job Roles:
  • Procurement: Source and purchase goods and services from suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and contracts to achieve cost savings.
  • MRP Scheduling: Coordinate the scheduling of materials and products to meet customer demand.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all goods and services meet the required quality standards.
  • New Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products and services.
  • Driving Improvement Initiatives: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Excellent Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Education and Experience:
  • Educated to degree level - CIPS preferably (or working towards).
  • Supply chain or procurement experience.
  • IT literate with strong spreadsheet knowledge.
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP and SAP systems.
  • Experience working in a legislative environment and familiar with procedures/systems.
