Job DescriptionAbout the Role

Bright Sparks Science is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Science Instructor to deliver engaging science sessions to primary school students. As a Science Instructor, you will be responsible for presenting interactive science lessons, promoting STEM education, and inspiring young minds.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality science tuition, activities, and life-skill opportunities in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Provide comprehensive care for students, including supervision and safe transportation to parents or guardians at the end of the session.
  • Ensure adherence to Bright Sparks Science policies and procedures, as well as maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Complete registration and hand-over of children at either end of the club, and exchange relevant information with parents, guardians, or school representatives.
  • Facilitate effective communication with Bright Sparks Science staff, local schools, and community partners.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience working with children aged 5-11 years.
  • Valid driving license and use of own car for travel to and from schools and Bright Sparks Science locations.
  • Mobile phone for communication with school coordinators and reporting absences.
  • GCSEs and/or A-Levels (or equivalent) in science subjects.
  • Strong understanding of and interest in science, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to safeguarding children.
Working Arrangements

As a casual worker, you will be required to work on a termly basis, with varying hours and schedules. You will be expected to travel to Bright Sparks Science locations and schools, with mileage reimbursement provided.

Training and Development

Bright Sparks Science offers comprehensive training and support for Science Instructors, including online and in-person training sessions, to ensure you are equipped to deliver high-quality science programs.
