Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and expanding existing software libraries for experiment and instrument control, managing the tracking of feature requests, issues, and bugs to ensure their resolution, improving code health for existing software libraries, supporting experimentalists in correct use of software for measurements and analysis, working with hardware experts to understand requirements and scope out and develop new features, and supporting best practice in the use of software repositories for measurement and analysis tools. They will also be responsible for developing new software features and integrations, collaborating with other teams to integrate software components, and contributing to the development of software documentation and knowledge base.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in software development, particularly in Python, and experience with git, version control, and software best practices. You should also have strong collaborative approach, good communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently to achieve goals. Familiarity with C, assembly, and/or C++ is desirable, as well as experience in the development of software interfaces to hardware/instrumentation. Understanding of good software design principles and design for usability is also highly valued.
