CT Radiographer Position

Job Summary
This is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave in our CT Radiography team. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team and undertake a full range of CT scans for both in-patients and out-patients.
The department at Royal Gwent Hospital consists of a Canon Aquilion One Genesis CT scanner and a Canon Aquilion One Prism CT scanner, providing a 12-hour service, 7 days a week. The department hosts undergraduate radiography students on placement from Cardiff University, and you will be expected to be actively involved in their training and supervision as part of your role.
It is essential that you are a good communicator and team player capable of carrying out CT examinations, acting as a support for the Superintendent Radiographer. You will also be expected to demonstrate evidence of commitment to CPD and participate in departmental CPD sessions both online and practically.
Main Duties of the Job
- To supervise, co-ordinate and participate in the provision of the Radiology CT service.
- To participate in the CT service 24-hour shift rota as required.
- To be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality images in an efficient, professional and caring manner.
- To support the Radiology CT lead in the delivery of the service.
- To have and maintain an in-depth knowledge of current radiographic techniques and equipment.
- To carry out intravenous cannulations and injections as required by the department after the appropriate training.
- To communicate effectively with patients and all grades of staff to give technical and professional advice as required.
- To make an ongoing contribution to the education of others and demonstrate a teaching and advisory role to qualified colleagues.
