Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking an experienced Radiographer to join their team as a specialist in CT imaging. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising, coordinating and participating in the provision of the Radiology CT service.

The department at Royal Gwent Hospital consists of a Canon Aquilion One Genesis CT scanner and a Canon Aquilion One Prism CT scanner and provides a 12 hour service, 7 days a week.

As a specialist in CT imaging, you will be expected to have in-depth knowledge of current radiographic techniques and equipment, as well as experience in a wide range of CT techniques. You will also be required to communicate effectively with patients and all grades of staff to give technical and professional advice as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising, coordinating and participating in the provision of the Radiology CT service
  • Participating in the CT service 24 hour shift rota as required
  • Ensuring the provision of high quality images in an efficient, professional and caring manner
  • SUPPORTING THE RADIOLOGY CT LEAD IN THE DELIVERY OF THE SERVICE
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of current radiographic techniques and equipment
  • Carrying out intravenous cannulations and injections as required by the department after the appropriate training

This is a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in the 24 hour shift system along with rotation to any other CT departments with the Health Board as per service requirements.

The estimated salary for this role is around £34,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
