We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to lead and manage the quality assurance of recruitment activities across Our Future Health clinics located throughout the UK. The successful candidate will ensure alignment of the quality operation team's procedures and processes with broader organisational activities.

Our Future Health is a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.

The Quality Assurance Manager will contribute to the broader operational strategy as part of the senior leadership team, collaborating with other team leads to drive cross-functional initiatives. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Setting the roadmap, priorities, delivery and continuous improvement activities for the Quality Operations team.
  • Leading and managing the Quality Operations team, providing line management and oversight for Quality Operations Coordinators.
  • Management and oversight of all aspects of quality assurance, including training, calibration, standard operating procedures and documentation for recruitment partners.
  • Providing guidance on management of corrective actions, non-conformances and quality governance activities with all recruitment partners.
  • Overseeing and leading on improvements made to team systems, such as the electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) and dashboards monitoring quality of data at all recruitment sites.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for Our Future Health operational quality.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of quality assurance processes to ensure accurate and complete data are collected for Our Future Health.
  • Participating in internal governance meetings, providing support in risk identification, risk mitigation through review of data and quality control processes.
  • Growing and scaling the Quality team to an appropriate size to ensure quality assurance coverage across all clinics recruiting in the UK.
  • Ensuring quality metrics are available and can be used to effectively manage performance of sites.
  • Monitoring and reporting on clinical and operational risks as part of our corporate and operational level risk management processes.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant experience in clinical research, either in an academic or commercial setting.
  • A life sciences degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in Quality, Compliance or Governance within a clinical research or academic setting.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance and monitoring processes in clinical research.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including capacity to manage a team, motivate colleagues and inspire effective teamwork.
  • Working knowledge and experience of the UK clinical research environment, as well as understanding of population research and cohort studies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, with the ability to effectively interact with people at all levels.
  • Proven ability to multi-task with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clearly articulated processes.
