Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Support Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibilities will include the provision of cabling activities such as installation, termination, and testing of data center interlink cabling using CAT-5e, CAT-6/6A, and fiber optic cabling. The role also involves hardware deployments, IMAC-D, and supporting external resources.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of HPE Proliant, Blade servers, and Dell Servers, as well as experience with patch cabling in DC environments. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installations and maintenance of customer equipment
  • Installation, termination, and testing of all data center interlink cabling
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by clarifying needs and ensuring they are met

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of HPE Proliant, Blade servers, and Dell Servers
  • Experience with patch cabling in DC environments
  • Good knowledge of Service Now (SNOW)
  • Sound knowledge of ESD working practices and general Health & Safety
  • Good MS Office tool skills
  • Strong Customer relationship skills and ability to manage complex customer problems
  • Display calmness and ability to solve problems under pressure
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Salary Range: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum

Location: Lewisham and London Docklands
