Job Summary

We are currently seeking a qualified or unqualified Child Care Worker to join our team at Cummings Park and Tillydrone Nurseries. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development of learning activities for children from birth to 16 years old.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supporting Learning Activities: Assist in planning and developing learning activities that meet the needs of individual children, promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Creating a Welcoming Environment: Help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that supports children's early learning and development, including setting up play areas and preparing materials.
  • Domestic Duties: Be prepared to undertake domestic duties such as preparing snacks and cleaning equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment for children.
  • Safeguarding Children: Respect the safeguarding of children and follow each venue's policies and procedures to ensure their safety and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: A good standard of education and some experience working within a childcare setting, preferably with knowledge of child development from birth to 16 years old.
  • Qualifications and Registration: Member of the PVG scheme for children, SSSC Registered as a practitioner, with a willingness to further your qualifications through ongoing Continual Professional Development.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communicator, verbal and written, to a wide range of people, including children, parents, team members, regulatory bodies, and members of the local community.
What We Offer:
  • Salary: £30 per hour, paid weekly or bi-weekly depending on the agreed payment schedule.
  • Holidays: 28 paid days pro rata, including Public Holidays, to ensure you have time to relax and recharge.
  • Training and Support: Induction training, regular online team meetings, and access to internal and external training opportunities to support your professional development.
