Role Overview
Educational Healthcare Assistants play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in leading SEN schools across Lancashire. The schools are dedicated to empowering and supporting their students to reach their full potential.
About the Role
As an Educational Healthcare Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including physical, emotional, and learning challenges. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment, enabling our students to thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Personalised Care: Assist with daily living activities such as feeding, mobility, and personal care, ensuring the well-being of each student.
- Support Learning: Assist in the classroom, working one-on-one or in small groups to facilitate learning and engagement in line with the students' educational plans.
- Collaboration with Staff: Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other healthcare professionals to implement personalised educational and health care strategies.
- Progress Monitoring: Keep detailed records of students' progress and care needs, ensuring clear communication with the wider team.
- Promoting Independence: Encourage students to develop independence and self-confidence, supporting their social and emotional development.
Requirements
- A caring, patient, and compassionate individual with a genuine interest in supporting students with SEN.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or educational support role is desirable, but not essential.
- A proactive and flexible approach, able to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or special educational needs (preferred but not required).

Key Information

- A competitive hourly rate of pay of £12.90+ per hour depending on experience and additional duties.
