The Role
As a Head of Maintenance at Barchester, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our care homes. You'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of property maintenance, from minor repairs to larger projects. This will involve working closely with contractors, managing budgets, and leading a team of maintenance staff. Your goal will be to create a safe and comfortable environment for residents, while also ensuring that the facilities are well-maintained and efficient.

Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of property maintenance, including repairs, renovations, and new installations
- Manage a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Work closely with contractors to ensure that all work is completed on time and to a high standard
- Develop and manage budgets for maintenance projects
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in a way that minimizes disruption to residents and staff

Requirements
- At least one trade skill (e.g. electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
- Proven experience of property maintenance, ideally in a care home setting
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
- Full UK driving licence
- GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent)
- IT literacy
