Special Education Assistant

Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in a primary setting. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as patience and creativity in working with students who have mild to severe learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Work alongside the class teacher and therapy teams to ensure each student progresses towards their goals.
- Provide support and assistance to students with physical disabilities, sensory impairment, Autism, and complex medical needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
- Strong understanding of the requirements to support pupils with additional needs.
- Experience supporting young people with SEN would be advantageous.
- Training in PECS, Makaton, manual handling, and hoisting (desired but not essential).
- Adaptability, motivation, and ability to take initiative.
The salary for this position is estimated at £90-£110 per day, depending on experience. As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will also benefit from:
