About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of customers while supervising the swimming pool and its surroundings as a pool lifeguard. They will also assist with routine checks, cleaning, and event preparation, including equipment assembly and dismantling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake general lifeguard duties in accordance with National Pool Lifeguard Qualification standards, maintaining a safe poolside environment at all times.
  • Monitor water conditions, reporting any issues to the Duty Manager.
  • Manage swimmer numbers, advising the Duty Manager when limits are exceeded or additional lifeguards are required.
  • Maintain compliance with PSOP (Pool Safety Operating Procedure) and Centre Emergencies Procedures.
  • Ensure customer safety and satisfaction by providing excellent service and resolving minor problems promptly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to prepare and operate events, including setting up and dismantling equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the centre and storage areas.
  • Support with opening and closing procedures and other tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and varying shifts.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.

  • A competitive salary: £9.50 - £10.50 per hour (dependent on experience).
