Job Title: Night Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Service Engineer to join our team at VanRath. As a Night Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, and repairing various types of heavy equipment at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine servicing, inspections, and repairs on a range of heavy equipment
  • Conduct visual and operational checks to identify worn or defective parts
  • Use technical manuals and diagnostic tools to locate and repair faulty components
  • Carry out thorough inspections of accident-damaged equipment and provide detailed reports
  • Work independently, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations
  • Select appropriate repair techniques, equipment, and materials while adhering to safety protocols
  • Obtain customer approval and signatures upon completing work to their satisfaction
  • Ensure all maintenance and repairs are carried out in line with manufacturer instructions and company safety procedures
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the latest diagnostic systems and Auto Electrician fault diagnosis
  • Experience using electronic diagnostic equipment on heavy goods or specialist vehicles
  • City and Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Mechanical and Electronic Systems (Maintenance and Repair) or equivalent
  • Valid driving licence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build solid working relationships
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload, and prioritise tasks
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing work demands
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving
