About the Role:
Rainham Steel, a leading UK steel stockholder, is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team at our Rainham, Essex depot. As a mechanical maintenance engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the operations manager, you will be responsible for the installation, diagnosis, and repair of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- You will also be required to perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks, as well as fault finding and rectification.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions is also a key aspect of this role.
- You will be expected to work flexible hours, including paid overtime when necessary, and adhere to a basic working schedule of 8am - 5.30pm, 42.5 hours per week.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in maintenance within a production environment.
- Competent in mechanical repairs and maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, pressurized environment.
- Good command of the English language.
- Excellent time-keeping skills.
