Job Summary

Norfolk State University invites applications for a non-tenure-track clinical instructor, Director of the BSW Field Education position, in The Ethelyn R. Strong School of Social Work. The ideal candidate will possess a master's in social work (MSW) degree from a CSWE accredited program and demonstrate significant knowledge of field education at the graduate level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence of or potential for exemplary teaching
  • Serve as a professional advisor
  • Engage in service to benefit the School of Social Work and field education

Requirements

  • MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program
  • 3 years post-MSW practice experience
  • 2 years' experience working with students as an instructor, field instructor, or a field liaison

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in social work or a related discipline from an accredited university
  • Familiarity with Educational Policy Accreditation Standards (EPAS)
  • Licensed at the LCSW or LMSW level
  • Experience in online teaching, preferably using Blackboard
  • Demonstrate multicultural competence including an awareness and understanding of historically disadvantaged populations

Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated record of social work practice experience, scholarly presentations, and/or supervision experience.
