Job Title: Primary School Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary school in Newcastle.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide individualized support to the pupil, helping them to engage with their learning and make progress.

The role will involve:

  • Providing 1:1 support to the pupil during lessons
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson planning and implementation
  • Communicating effectively with the class teacher and other staff members to ensure the pupil's needs are met
  • Supervising the pupil during break times and lunchtimes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of working with pupils with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (ideally on the Update Service)
