The Role

This is an excellent opportunity within our Technology team. It's a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity for a Second Line Engineer to take ownership of investigating a wide range of second-line IT infrastructure and application issues for STS both on-site and remotely.

You'll be investigating the root cause of incidents/problems and taking pride in being committed to resolving them within our agreed service levels while coordinating support through third-party vendors where necessary.

Your robust stakeholder management skills will be needed in this role, particularly strong interpersonal and influencing skills.

We operate in a highly pressured environment, so you'll need to be resilient and thrive under pressure. You'll be supporting our x environment, and we'll be utilising your support to cover the on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership of incoming support tickets logged on Service Now and working through to resolution, accurately logging all activities throughout the ticket lifecycle.
  • Providing IT infrastructure and application support for the business.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting both hardware and software issues while also carrying out maintenance and health checks.
  • Managing alerts from systems and ensuring the appropriate action is performed.
  • Managing Active Directory and group policy and actively contributing to internal/customer documentation library.
  • FOLLOWING ITIL FRAMEWORK AND METHODOLOGIES
