Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to join our Lighting department at Encore Global. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical projects and teams, ensuring the successful delivery of events and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring each project is completed to a high standard.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead specific projects or aspects of projects from initial brief to final delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with production and sales teams to determine technical requirements and communicate event execution plans.
  • Documentation: Produce documentation and guidelines detailing best practices, project plans, and technical drawings.
  • Client Liaison: Manage client liaison and communications when leading a project directly.
  • Resource Management: Determine and secure resources required to successfully complete each project.
  • Scope Management: Monitor project scope throughout the event planning process and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Equipment Management: Assist sales and operations teams to determine equipment needs and technical solutions for the project.
Event Execution
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the technical leader and dedicated point of contact within an assigned capacity in Lighting.
  • Project Planning: Communicate the project plan and manage client expectations.
  • Change Management: Manage all project changes, including schedule, equipment, or workforce modifications.
  • Team Development: Mentor and communicate relevant team members on event execution and best practices to improve knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Best Practices: Help establish technical best practices and production standards.
  • Post-Event Review: Conduct a post-event debrief internally and with clients to assess project delivery and establish 'win, learns, changes' and future opportunities.
Financial Management
  • Budget Management: Manage resources (hardware and own time) to align with the approved budget and ensure all changes are communicated to sales for billing purposes.
  • Upselling: Actively seek 'upsell' opportunities and charge appropriately for additional work outside of the agreed scope.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures in force, including data security and GDPR, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, and health and safety policies.
Administrative & Training
  • Review and Debrief: Conduct an internal review and debrief and a client debrief for events to understand what worked well and identify areas for improvement.
  • Professional Development: Continue to develop capabilities and expertise via internal resources and external sources (courses, internet research, user-groups, and online forums).
  • Process Improvement: Participate in regular production meetings and reviews to develop and improve delivery processes and SOPs.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2-3+ years of Lighting technical experience in the AV industry.
  • Background: Strong technical background and good written and oral communication skills.
  • Skills: Familiarity with budgets and cost control, MS Office experience required with PowerPoint and Excel knowledge/experience preferred.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 70% may be required.
