We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Professional to join our team at Northern. In this vital role, you will ensure our trains are in peak condition, ready to roll.

This is more than just maintenance - you'll be contributing to our overall mission of improving rail travel.

  • Team Collaboration: Work with a dedicated Engineering Team to maintain and service our traction and rolling stock to the highest standards.
  • Effective Communication: Share updates and coordinate maintenance efforts with colleagues, keeping everyone informed.
  • Maintenance Expertise: Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repairs with expertise, ensuring our trains are safe and ready for service every day.
  • Diagnostics and Problem Solving: Use diagnostic software to fault find, problem solve, and carry out root cause analysis to prevent future issues, focusing on our electric units.
  • Clear Information Relay: Communicate essential information to apprentices and colleagues to foster a culture of teamwork and safety.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to the varying demands of train maintenance and operational needs.

Safety-Critical Role: Note that this role is subject to Rail Safety & Standards Board (RSSB) regulations.

  • Currently live within a 45-minute car journey from the station you work from.
  • Pass the safety-critical medical assessment, including drugs and alcohol screening.
  • Not have defective colour vision.
