Job Title: Manager/Specialist

Job Summary:

The post holder will provide a case coordination and management function to support the work of the LD and ASC Transforming Care Programme. This will involve bringing together all agencies involved in the delivery of specialist LD/MH ASC placements, both in the community and inpatient settings, locally and out of county.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the application of the commissioning cycle through operational activities such as procurement, quality assurance, service improvement, and safeguarding.
  • Provide advice on future models of commissioning for individuals with complex, enduring, and treatment-resistant mental health issues and forensic risk profiles.
  • Provide professional advice and clinical expertise to commissioners when considering specialist inpatient placements.
  • Work with commissioned inpatient services to support service improvement and patient safety initiatives, and advise all other professionals involved in the process of ensuring safe patient discharge.
  • Develop a check and challenge function in the ongoing monitoring and management of specialist mental health, learning disabilities, and ASC inpatient placements.
  • Assume a key reviewing role in the nationally mandated Care and Treatment Review (CTR) process and associated quality assurance processes for individuals with learning disabilities placed in inpatient settings.
  • Provide professional advice and clinical expertise to enable active discharge planning and pathways for those individuals who are subject to Ministry of Justice detention.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the NHS Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board and contribute to the development of specialist mental health, learning disabilities, and ASC services. The post holder will work closely with commissioners, providers, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality services that meet the needs of individuals with complex needs.

Requirements:

The post holder will require strong clinical expertise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A background in commissioning, quality assurance, or service improvement would be advantageous.
