Asset Building Surveyor

1st Select is seeking a highly experienced Asset Building Surveyor to join our Capital Programme Team within the Asset Management Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering the condition survey programme across our educational and operational building portfolio in Lancashire.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the delivery of condition surveys across Lancashire, working independently with minimal supervision and managing your own workload effectively.
- Use your knowledge of building or engineering building pathology to identify specific defects and associated remedies and costs across a wide range of building stock.
- Apply detailed knowledge of construction-related health and safety matters to inform decision-making.
- Consult with premises managers, central service managers, and other professionals to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Contribute towards identifying improvements in service delivery and provide support in the preparation and monitoring of the Capital Condition Programmes.
- Experienced Building Surveyor suitably qualified to degree status or equivalent.
- Must have On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) qualification.
- High level of experience and knowledge in building/mechanical/electrical pathology, identifying defects and remedies, building construction types, mechanical or electrical infrastructure (particularly in educational buildings), Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice, relevant legislation, and current standards.
- Experience of identifying and prioritising condition needs across a varied portfolio.
- Experience of undertaking detailed condition surveys from start to completion, identifying defects and priorities.
Essential: A relevant professional or technical qualification to degree level or equivalent (e.g., Building Surveying, Building Services Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction or relevant subject matter).
Desirable: Qualified MRICS Chartered Member Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or other recognised Construction/Property profession or organisation.
